The IYE-LABs project is launching the first Social-Environmental Laboratory for inclusion of young people into voluntary action in Córdoba. This EU-project is led by Xul Foundation (Córdoba), and co-financed by the Erasmus+ program. IYE-LABs project will start next month (September 2019), and its actions will take place simultaneously in Spain, Italy, Croatia and Turkey.
The project seeks to train 100 young Europeans to face the most pressing social, environmental and cultural challenges. Young people participating in the laboratory will experience in first person a training and self-knowledge process aimed at better understanding the dilemmas and social, cultural and environmental challenges both at local and global level to carry out innovation and ethical actions, and build a local citizenship.
A 120-hour free training itinerary that will take place between October 2019 and February 2020 has been designed to this end, and also a programme of volunteer-oriented internships that will take place from March to June 2020 and will be concluded with an international exchange meeting in August 2020.

- Identifying young people: we are searching for social organizations from Córdoba and province that can identify young people (18 to 30 years old) that might be interested and feel committed to get involved. Our goal is to establish a group being as representative as possible of today’s society diversity. Participation in IYE-LABs will make the volunteers experience a transformation in the conception of themselves, of others’ and of the environment, as well as discovering how to change reality, expand their network of contacts and implement a voluntary project that will be designed by themselves.
- Proposing you as a reception entity for volunteers: participants will design solutions to the detected local challenges (social, environmental or cultural) that can subsequently be implemented through volunteering projects. In order to do this, they will be supported by local organizations that have informed their work and how they could contribute. Our project wants to give preference to organizations based in the province of Córdoba (Spain).
