Call for participants – IYE-LABS Spain

• Would you also like to participate in a unique experience with young people from three other European countries (Croatia, Italy and Turkey) to share your concerns and ideas?

IYE-Labs is a laboratory for social and environmental innovation aimed at promoting youth volunteering in Córdoba that will allow you to improve your environment and guide your professional future towards the sector of social innovation. This EU project is led by the Xul Foundation (Córdoba), counting with the support of the City Council of Córdoba and the Andalusian Youth Institute. The project is co-financed by the European Erasmus + program and throughout the 2019-2020 academic year will be developed not only in Córdoba (Spain) but also in Zagreb (Croatia), Trento (Italy) and Istanbul (Turkey).

Why could you be interested?

The project is aimed at young people between 18 and 30 years old with social and / or environmental concerns interested in this space focused on knowledge, reflection, creativity and action.

• Participation for you is completely free of charge. You will have a tutor who will accompany you throughout the education process.
• IYE-Labs will allow you to become an agent for social change for your community.
• You will receive training and acquire the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to face the social, cultural or environmental challenges of your environment.
• It will allow you to generate a network of contacts and the desired experience to start building your professional future in the social sector.
• You will be able to know what skills you have developed throughout your experience, such as problem-solving, flexibility, innovation, leadership, organisational and teamwork skills.
• Plataforma del Voluntariado Espanol, a partner entity of the IYE-LABs project, will provide information on how you can request a certificate that guarantees your participation in volunteer activities and incorporate it into your CV to increase your employability.

How does it work?

The IYE-Labs project consists of three phases:

• Train yourself

This module covers aspects such as social awareness, critical thinking and the development of skills for social performance. The IYE-LABs program will begin in October 2019 with the training phase.

• Develop your volunteer project

You will be able to identify your biggest social and environmental concerns and develop your own volunteer project to face them. IYE-LABS will accompany you and help you to carry out your creative proposals in the face of the social, cultural and environmental challenges that you detect in your environment.

Reference figures, social organisations and companies will help us identify what are the environmental challenges, generate creative solutions and impact our communities.

• Take action

You will be able to execute your volunteer project to actively contribute to improving your community. The whole process will culminate in the celebration of an international event to exchange the best projects and volunteer initiatives in the Italian city of Trento. Three representatives from the labs of the project in Italy, Croatia, Spain and Turkey will attend the meeting.
