About THIS GUIDE

HOW TO SURVIVE A PANDEMIC

The How to survive a pandemic guide aims to co-create solutions and innovations from young participants’ insights to tackle the new scenario due to the coronavirus crisis and help to achieve SDGs goals and targets instead of or because of it.

Solutions should help to inspire other youngsters in order to tackle future social inequalities, especially those of young people with disadvantaged backgrounds.

Following the rationale of the IYELABs Lab, the co-creation of this guide meets the following purposes:

  • ENGAGEMENT of youth through their PARTICIPATION in the co-creation process and PEER NETWORK.
  • CONNECTION of youth from different participating countries promoting INTERCULTURAL DIALOGUE.
  • EMPOWERMENT of youth to drive positive changes and innovation for other young people, mainly disadvantage young people after de Covid-19, through E-VOLUNTEERING-LAB.

The specific objectives of this guide are…

  • To co-create an IYE-LABs common guide in order to provide other youngsters with forward-thinking tools, skills and knowledge in relation to the future scenario after the Covid-19.
  • Learn from the crisis during the crisis, and draw lessons that will serve to accelerate change towards meeting the SDGs when the emergency passes.
  • Enhancing media literacy and digital skills and critical thinking.
  • Promoting European values and solidarity.
  • To disseminate IYE-LABs co-created projects and their e-adaptations, if possible, to the general public.
  • To make available different initiatives that Young people around Europe could develop, implement or advocate for in order to help their communities dealing current societal challenges and SDGs.

Elaboration process

We have conceived this guide as an e-volunteering activity during which our participants put in practice the knowledge and lessons learned gained during the training itinerary phase.

Why did we do this guide?

With this initiative, we wanted not only to give continuity to the activities of IYE-LABs but also to provide moral support to young people isolated in their homes.

Our Guide’s sections

The guide is divided into three main sections:  (1) Pilot projects, (2) Pilot projects in times of COVID-19 & (3) Create your own initiative.
